the beijing-shanghai quantum-communications network is the longest trunk with maximum range and also the first demonstration network in the field of quantum-communication in the world. this project includes a 2,000-kilometre trunk connecting beijing and shanghai throughout jinan and hefei. the quantum-communication network is a cutting-edge technology in the world. the beijing-shanghai network provides not only the highest level of protection for chinese government, military, national security and financial data, but also a test bed for quantum theories and new technologies.
